One more Umbrella couple!  I think this is my last for a while.  I do love painting these series of somewhat the same composition and changing up the colors.  The last 3 Umbrella paintings would even look good hung together.  This one is a stand alone I think.  Many of my paintings are started with a red base.  I love the color poking through.  8x8 oil on board.

Here is this Umbrella couple again!  This time I tried a yellow one and I am liking it with my woman's blue coat.  The 8 x 8 board is first painted a rich red and dried.  The lavender is applied on top but not too much... I want the red to peek through.

I completed my second painting of this couple with their umbrella.  Or is it a different couple?  Hmmm

I have sat at the computer for way too long trying to think of a suitable title for this.  Orange Umbrella is an easy one but I am open to ideas if anyone out there is feeling creative.  I just returned from an exhausting weekend away.  It was very fun - my good friend was the mother of the bride and I was there as a guest, but also to be of help.  My title was "Mother's Matron!"  We had so much FUN that it is taking me days to get myself back together here.

Castaways Path

I love paths.  I love walking paths, I love painting paths.  Marilyn who owns the studio I paint in several days a week, will say, "oh Janet, painting another lonely path?"  She is teasing me of course and we both laugh.  But paths take you places - hopefully fun, interesting places.  This one borders the Castaways homes and takes me from my house to ANOTHER PATH overlooking the Back Bay.
