Day 24 of the 30 Day Challenge
This is a very different painting than I would typically paint.  I am always attracted to architectural pieces and cityscapes.  This one reminds me of a children's book I use to read.  I can't put my finger on the one I am thinking of but it is clear in my mind:  soft colors, line drawings, a woman or girl with her purse over her arm - very proper.  Anyone know?

I wonder when someone will clue into the fact that there are 31 days in January?

I think I will keep quiet.

Blackie's in Newport Beach, Ca. has been around for as long as I can remember.

The full name is Blackie's By The Sea.

It has a sign hanging that says, "Sorry we're open" and  you can play pool for 50 cents.  It has always been a fisherman's hangout and a regular's hangout and a local's place that even the

 Duke (John Wayne) frequented.

Me?  Maybe once during college.  Honest.  I think it was a weaving bike ride down the boardwalk one late afternoon with a fun group of sun worshiping 21 year olds.

I now need to revisit after painting this.

Woodland's Resort and Inn Palette Knife Abstract Paintings by California artist Janet Bludau

Has anyone out there been to the Woodland's Inn in Summerville, South Carolina?

Summerville,  a historic village  known fondly as "The Flower Town in the Pines" is  about 20 miles from Charleston, South Carolina.  It was once an escape for plantation owners from the mosquito-laden marshes.  

This small painting of the inn is a gift to the gracious owner of Woodland's.

If ever in the area and in need of pampering, I suggest you look them up!
